All Hands On Deck: Keep the Transit Tax Credit in Force, and Save $

The following letter from our friends at T4 America is an urgent call to action. Please read it and sign the petition today, and contact your representatives in Congress directly.
 
If you take transit to get to work each day, come January you could be paying more out of your own pocket when the tax deduction for transit is cut in half.
 
But drivers will keep enjoying the same great parking benefit – nearly double what transit commuters will be eligible to receive. We don’t think that’s fair, and Congress needs to hear about it.

As the featured report from NBC News makes clear, the economic recession is devastating mass transit systems – at the same time as large numbers of unemployed and under-employed Americans need mobility to find jobs. Keep America Moving is a coalition of transit unions who believe that there must be increased aid to mass transit systems on the part of the federal government.
